Description of service
My two year old son was born with allergy to cow's milk protein. He was going to a GI doctor that had prescribed a special formula for him. He suggested that we change him to soy milk, but said that we would have to do a trial in the hospital to make sure that there were no side effects. The cost of the hospital was $1976.00 for a 36 hour stay. The physician charged an additional $193.00 for overseeing the soy trial.
Review of Service
We did a 36 hour soy trial for my two year old in a childrens hospital. They are set up really nice for kids. They have a game room with videos, books, and toys. They also have scheduled group movies and entertainment for the children, which helps prevent boredom for toddlers. The nurses and staff were really friendly and great with children. I do feel that the price of our hospital stay was a little expensive, but the hospital was helpful in arranging a payment plan.
Tips
When your doctor suggest that you need to stay in the hospital for some type of trial, make sure to ask about other alternatives. In my case the doctor insisted that we stay in the hospital, so I felt that it was better to follow his orders.
