Description of service
I went to the doctor's office and passed out so they called the paramedics to take me to the hospital. The hospital that I wanted to go to was really crowded so they suggested that I go to a different one. My symptoms were stomach upset, problems breathing, and coughing. I also had a temperature and felt miserable. They decided that I was dehydrated, so I needed to stay over. They put me into a room with another person. They gave me treatments with a nebulizer every 4 hours and I had an IV for fluids. No doctor ever came in. I stayed for three days, because no doctor ever checked on me.
Review of Service
The nursing staff was non-existent. If you tried calling them, they ignored you. One person in another room, when they couldn't get a nurse, threw a bedpan into the hall to get attention. My husband was with me most of the time, so he would go to see if a nurse was around. The third day, a doctor came in. He said "What is the problem you are experiencing?" I said to him "Did you read my chart?" He said that he didn't have time. My husband told him to come back after he read the chart. Then, the nurse said the doctor was upset with us! When he finally agreed to release me, the hospital gave me a copy of his report and he said that I had emphasema!! I had told him I had asthma, but apparently, he didn't listen.
Tips
Stay out of the hospital if at all possible. Make sure you see a doctor as soon as you are admitted. When a doctor does see you, make sure they understand what you are experiencing and what you have been diagnosed with before. I had severe bronchitis which finally went away. When you get your bill, check to see what you are being charged for. I didn't pay that doctor because he was an idiot and didn't treat me at all. The meds I was given were due to the doctor who admitted me.
