Description of service
I paid to have my 1 year old female cat spayed. The fee covered the actual spaying, general anesthetic and followup medicine, as well as booster shots to get the cat up to date. The fee also covered the follow up visit to have the stitches removed. I was also given a free neck shade to keep her from chewing on stitches when that became an issue.
Review of Service
The service I received was exceptional. The veterinarian was very caring, gave me constant information while my cat was out of the house, and made sure we were completely satisfied. The best part in my mind, was the communication. They keep the cat over the night, but he called to let me know the surgery was done, and the kitty was doing just fine. The only thing that wasn't so great was after the surgery there was no definitive followup. I was given the option to make an appointment to have the stitches removed, but when I didn't make one (I removed them myself at home) no one called to follow up to make sure nothing was wrong. I think the service was an excellent value for the price, as spaying a cat aged 1 year or older can get even more expensive.
Tips
For anyone looking for a spay or neuter for their pet, definitely do your homework. Call the different veterinarians in your area (there's generally several) and get price quotes. Find out if the necessary boosters are included (if your cats shots aren't up to date, they have to be before a spay/neuter will be done). Find out about followup care and things. I really didn't wish I had known anything sooner for this, I did a lot of research. The most important part is to just make sure you know whats going on.
