Description of service
I went to a local low-cost veterinarian to have my female cat spayed. The cost of the surgery was $65.00.
I inherited a cat from a friend of mine who was moving cross country. I didn't realize until a few weeks after I'd gotten her that she'd never been fixed. I didn't have a vet at the time so I called around to several animal shelters for recommendations. I found a low cost clinic that would do the procedure for $65 for a female cat and $55 for a male cat.
I was able to drop my cat off before work and pick her up afterward, even though I didn't get there until an hour or so past traditional doctor's office hours. This was a huge help as my job is very inflexible and I would not have been able to leave early to pick her up.
Review of Service
My only complaint about the place was that they were clearly servicing a lot of people and were understaffed. It didn't bother me too much, it just meant a little extra wait, because I know that's how they keep their prices low but it is something to consider.
Tips
If you get this type of procedure done very cheaply, that likely means the institution where it's being done is servicing a lot of people and pets. This means you might have to wait in lines. If you don't want to wait, be willing to pay more.
