the Price of Christmas Portraits

Last November we decided to give everybody a family portrait for Christmas that year. I started checking all the different photo studios in our neighborhood. After checking around for a few days, I finally found one that I liked and that was reasonably priced. First I had to set up an appointment and I did that over the phone. The lady on the phone told me that their studio hours were from nine am to five pm which suited me fine since I was off from work anyway. So we set up an appointment for the following day. There was no sitting fee either which I liked very much since all the other photo studios I called before required one. I was told that there were lots of different portrait packages to choose from. The cheapest one was $7.99 for each sheet and after purchasing eight it was only $1.99 for the next one. That sounded pretty good to me. With that came four different poses to choose from and each family member was able to take a pose alone. There were other special items like CD's, picture books, greeting cards, etc., that she would gladly show me at the end of our session.

Well it turned out to be a pretty good experience. Everybody at the photo studio was very friendly and very nice and patient with my children. First we took four different poses with all the family members and then my two little girls had the chance to be the star and take some shots by themselves. Now, after we got finished which was about 45 to one hour later we got the chance to select our shots we wanted from the computer. The photographer took some excellent shots and it was very hard to pick so, we selected all of them. We ended up ordering six sheets of each pose and the portrait Cd. We ended up paying $120 and having a wonderful pre- Christmas experience.

This can be a wonderful and fun experience if you pick the right studio. Make sure the atmosphere is friendly and that they like children. Also, there is no need to pick the most expensive studio either. We received lots of nice and pretty pictures and we really have to pay top price.
