Description of service
I paid a flat fee of $500 for bankruptcy assistance. It included several consultations with an attorney, all the paperwork I would need and a helpline I had access to when my attorney was occupied. It did not include court fees or filing costs.
Review of Service
This was a good service. My father went through a similar experience and swears that hiring an attorney is a waste of money as you can find all the information the lawyer provides if you do a little bit of legwork yourself. This is true, however the fact that I knew I had everything I needed and had someone to fill most of out it for me was worth the cost. Peace of mind is really a wonderful thing. My attorney was difficult to get a hold of and he did break several appointments. However, I felt that for the price that was to be expected. I definitely felt like I was just a number and had no personal report with my attorney. However, again, this was expected for the price.
Tips
If you're declaring bankruptcy and want some peace of mind, definitely get an attorney. There are cheap deals out there but if you want a lot of personal attention you won't get it for cheap.
