the Price of Flute Lessons

I took flute lessons from a local expert. The lessons were held in her home. The cost was $35 for each hour lesson.

These were great lessons for a beginner. I found out about the teacher through a mutual friend. I'd always wanted to take flute lessons so I jumped at the chance.

The teacher was very patient and had a great attitude. She was willing to take things at a slow pace and offered tons and tons of encouragement. I was very self-conscious as an older beginner but she made me feel at ease.

There were a few issues that led me to eventually find another teacher. The first issue was that, while it might be silly, I really wanted to participate in some kind of recital. As these classes were at someone's home and not in a classroom environment, there was no option for this.

Also, she only taught beginning lessons. After a few months I was no where near intermidiate but I did want to establish a relationship with a teacher who could teach me through the whole journey and not just at the beginning.

You can likely get cheaper lessons from someone giving lessons out of their home but keep in mind the things you will give up to save a few bucks.
