Description of service
The fee I paid was $30 per one hour flute lesson. This had to be paid at the beginning of each studio semester. Lessons were one on one with the teacher, who was a very well qualified and experienced flutist in the professional music world.
Review of Service
The quality of the service was very high, particularly for the price, which tends to be a little less in this area than in other parts of the country. The teacher was always well prepared for our lessons, by having a great deal of materials and music on hand to look at and explain things. He always was very demanding but with a good mix of positive feedback as well, making the student much more motivated. The price did not include the cost of the instrument, sheet music, and other materials such as a music stand, metronome, tuner, and other necessary items. These things can be expensive, especially in the beginning.
Tips
My main advice would be to do your research in finding a good teacher. A lot of people claim to have teaching experience yet lack the credentials that prove they have studied at a professional level. Also, do not be afraid to try out different teachers. Some personalities match better than others, and it is worth the extra time to make sure you or your child are learning their best. It is a service you are paying for, so make sure it is a good one.
