Description of service
I took this hour and a half cooking class that was specifically about Italian food. It included hands on instruction as well as a dinner with wine.
The first hour or so we went over the different types of pasta there are and what types went best with what kinds of sauce. We also learned a little bit about the history of pasta and the different ways in which it is made.
The next hour we spent working in a hands on way. We got to each make our own sauce. The school provided all the ingredients for us. I ended up working with a partner, which was one option, because I'm pretty new to cooking and while I did want to help I didn't feel comfortable making it completely on my own.
Once we were done cooking the sauce, we poured it over some pasta and helped ourselves to some bread provided by the school. We all sat down with some wine and tried out our pasta. Some people made more advanced kinds than others and we all got to try each others sauces.
Review of Service
This class was really great! It was a great instructional time as well as a great way to get to know some people.
Tips
Choosing a hands on cooking class will likely give you much more lasting instruction than taking a purely lecture type of cooking class.
