Description of service
The price listed above is for two adults to attend the class. The class included all the supplies/foods to make the following menu: Wild Mushroom and Madeira Crostini - Ribollita - Pollo e Porto (Chicken Braised in Port) with Creamy Polenta - Paradel (Apple Bread Pudding with Grapa Cream). The class was taught by a chef at a local kitchen supply store. The class lasted about 2 hours and then we got to eat what we made. We watched and participated in the creation of the meal.
Review of Service
This was so much fun! The instructor was a hoot and kept the class laughing throughout the whole class, but also taught us a lot. I had never made anything this fancy before and it was not the Italian food I was expecting either (no tomatoes or cheese here). The apple bread pudding was to die for and I plan to make that at home for friends/family for sure. The other chicken dish we did not participate in directly, as we are vegetarians, but we did watch and learn how to make it as we could do it at home with seitan. It was fun and good food. It was crowded--I think they allowed too many to register. I would do it again though.
Tips
We were once again burned by not calling ahead to see if there was going to be vegetarian food on the menu. If you have any dietary restrictions, definitely call ahead before registering. Go with an open mind too. Realize that your idea of Italian food is probably very Americanized and that their palate goes way beyond cheese and tomatoes.
