Description of service
This is the price we recently paid (or rather did not pay!) for my husband to have a vasectomy. The price included an initial consultation with the surgeon, a general physical, all anesthesia, the actual surgery, and the pain medicine for after the procedure. The actual cost filed with our insurance company was approximately $600. After the surgery, my husband had to go to a follow up visit to make sure the vasectomy was successful.
Review of Service
My husband was a bit worried about pain and the actual surgical process. However, the procedure is surprisingly quick. He had heard horror stories from other men about the pain following surgery. There was actually very little pain. In fact, he was feeling much better the second day after surgery and the pain was almost totally gone within a few days.
Tips
We did not have to pay anything because we had already met our maximum pay out for the entire year. If you have an insurance plan that includes a deductible, find out what your maximum out of pocket limit is. If you wait until near the end of the year, you might have already met this limit and your coverage will be much greater!
