Description of service
Cost included all expenses and follow-up visits, surgery prep, etc., as well as the surgery itself. It also included lab work several weeks later to test the results of the procedure.
I did not see a fully-itemized bill since it was sent to my insurance company. The cost was what was billed to insurance. My out of pocket expense was $50.
Review of Service
The service itself went smoothly. It was successful. I had a slightly more difficult procedure than normal due to some past injuries. Overall, the pain was nowhere near as bad as I was expecting.
Tips
The main thing about this is to not worry about it. It's not as bad as it sounds. Recovery isn't too bad. There may be some swelling, but it didn't hurt that bad.
Some things to keep in mind.
1) Get some athletic supports before the surgery. You'll need to wear them for a week or so after.
2) It's going to look pretty bad down there, but it shouldn't hurt much. You'll get some dull throbbing, faint pains, but nothing serious.
3) You'll need to go in for a test a few weeks later to make sure it worked. It's likely going to be a take home test.
4) Let your doctor know about any injuries or surgery you've had in the area. You'd be better prepared for complications that way.
5) Get an ice pack before the procedure. You'll need it to keep the bruising down.
6) Make absolutely sure you want to do this. It might be able to be reversed, but it will cost around $10,000 to do so. If you have any doubts whatsoever, you should look into storing some sperm ahead of time. The cost of that is much less than a reversal.
