My wife asked me to take a jazz dance class with her. I love jazz music and thought it would be exciting to broaden my horizons and try something new. I was wrong.
We met at the instructor's studio. He charged us $25 each, $50 total, for one hour. This went on for several weeks. Ultimately my wife joined a class he teaches in the evenings and I went back to the couch.
Review of Service
The instructor was fabulous. He has been dancing since he was a kid and he has competed for nearly twenty years. However, despite his effort and knowledge, I discovered I simply don't like to dance. I have no rhythm or sense of "musicality." The expense was not worth it and I stopped going. Like I said, it was my decision and it's in no way a reflection of his teaching abilities.
Tips
After a couple of sessions I realized that jazz dance isn't for me. I tried my best and I just did not enjoy myself. The instructor was, well is, amazing. it's obvious he has a passion and a desire I don't. If you want to try dancing, find an instructor like him. One that truly loves the arts of dancing and music. Find someone that can take your ability and help you shape it into something beautiful.
