Description of service
I had a one hour deep tissue massage at the local spa. The charge was 95.00 and I gave a tip of 20.00. The 95.00 charge included the use of a whirl pool and shower after the treatment. It also included a herbal ice tea served while I waited. When I called to make the appointment hey asked me to arrive 15 minutes early to relax before the treatment, and to bring a bathing suit to use in the whirlpool after the treatment.
Review of Service
The service was excellent. The spa is beautiful. The massage rooms are in a artificial grotto like area near the indoor pool and whirl pool. There is a locker room off the massage area, so you can disrobe in comfort and privacy. They provide big fuzzy robes to wear. The massage room is scented with essential oils and the lighting is low. It was very relaxing. The therapist did a really good job of getting deep into my muscles, this was not a light touch massage. The therapist asked me to tell her if it hurt, but it never did. When the session was finished I was invited to enjoy the whirl pool and then shower before I changed.
Tips
When going to a body worker I think it is important to have a referral. I had heard about this spa from a friend. Call and ask for a particular therapist if you want to see someone special. Be prepared to tip well, it's expected in a spa setting. Take enough time off from your day so you don't have to go right back to work afterwards, you can relax a little. Drink a lot of water before and after deep tissue massage, so you can release toxins better. Deep tissue massage doesn't have to hurt, You might be a little sore afterwards but that I think is normal in the beginning, and did happen to me.
