Description of service
I was charged $50.00 per hour for a relaxing deep tissue massage. I was given a choice between a few different types of deep tissue massage. It was provided in a comfortable dark room with soft music and I got to choose the lotion scent and aromatherapy oil scent. There were no additional fees for this service; any additional options that I was given were included in the price. I have to say that I was not sure whether or not to leave a gratuity for the therapist and so I did not.
Review of Service
I feel like I received a good deal from this particular massage therapist. It was a medically sponsored therapy group and so I felt as though I was receiving a massage with health benefits. The massage therapist was very professional and made me feel totally relaxed. I was worried that I would be given a therapist who talked a lot and for $50.00 an hour, I was not interested in talking during my massage. In essence, I got everything out of the experience that I was hoping for. For weeks after the massage I found that my muscles stayed relaxed and the tension in my muscles was significantly reduced.
Tips
As I've had other massages that were not as good as the one I've described here, I would advise anyone to try to go with a therapist that is maybe affiliated with their hospital. If having a quiet massage is important to you, I would let the therapist know up front that you would prefer not to have any conversation. Also, it might be nice to find out if the therapist offer scented oils or aromatherapies as that adds a lot to the experience.
