Description of service
I paid 50 dollars for a deep tissue massage appointment. This fee was for a one hour appointment with one massage therapist. I went to the therapists office and filled out an intake form. We sat and talked for a few minutes, about the area of my body that was the problem. The therapist explained what she was going to do and that I should let her know if the treatment was uncomfortable because she was going to "go deep in the muscle" but she would use less pressure if the treatment became painful. She had me get on the table and then the session started, so it really was not an hour of bodywork, I think it was about 45 minutes. She said next time we would not have to do paperwork so it would be a full hour. When the session was done she offered me a bottle of water as a refreshment.
Review of Service
I think the service was good, I did feel much better after the treatment. I did ask her to use less pressure several times during the session because some of the spots really did hurt! She was very good about using less pressure when I asked. The treatment room was comfortable, not to hot or to cold,it was clean, quiet, well furnished and she had nice music playing. I thought the bottled water was a nice touch.
Tips
I had a referral from a friend to this therapist. I would definitely ask around before I went. I asked for the price when I called to make the appointment, next time I would also ask what methods of payment are accepted, I was shocked that I could not use my debit card. make sure you communicate with the therapist so they know if you are uncomfortable with any thing they are doing, don't assume deep tissue therapy should hurt.
