The meetings teach you how to eat to lose weight while not starving or feeling like you're on a diet. In an essence it is reteaching you how to properly eat.
Materials provided are on a week to week basis. Each provided a new recipe, exercise, inspirational story from a member who has achieved their goal weight and a "tool" to help boost weight loss. Such as tool: metabolism boosters when you hit the weight loss plateu. Total price includes $89 sign up fee and weekly $12 meeting fee.
Review of Service
Meetings keep you on track by accomplishing one goal: the weigh-in. You have to account for your weight and you are paying the service money to do it. If you don't lose weight- you are throwing your money away!
The meetings accomplish nothing else. The members don't talk to each other but sit and listen the the leader tell her same story every week with a couple variations. The recipes and inspirational materials provided are nice but now available on-line and for free.
Tips
The accountabilty of the service is necessary to help motivate one to stay on the plan. Unless one finds a good leader to motivate or has an age appropriate group setting- the meetings are a waste of time. A 20year old isn't going to want to hear a 65year old speak about weight-loss when she has to learn how to lose weight while living in a dorm. The program works but the quality of the meetings aren't worth the money. Only the weigh-in.
