Description of service
I had a mole on my chin that appeared to be getting darker and larger as I aged. I spoke to my dermatologist about it and it was recommended that I have it remove, though she did not believe it was cancerous.
The procedure cost me at total of $145 and that included a follow up visit.
Review of Service
The procedure took about 45 minutes and I was awake for it. My dermatologist was very nice and explained all the possible risks and future side affects and also informed me that it might grow back.
One thing that I really appreciated was that she warned me that I might have a psychological reaction to the procedure. People who have lived their whole lives with moles, especially on their face, are so used to seeing them that having them removed can be a bit jarring. I thought it was kind of silly at the time but once it was removed - she was right! I was eased by the fact that she'd told me it might happen and that I would get used to it. It was nice to know I wasn't having an unusual reaction.
Tips
As with any doctor, be sure you trust and are comfortable with the person who removes your mole. Be prepared for possible psychological reactions and rest assured that in time you will get used to your non-moled appearance.
