Description of service
The price charged to my insurance company was $225 and included the cost of the mole removal from my neck as well as the lab work. The procedure was performed at my dermatologist's office. The entire process was very quick, lasting approximately 5 minutes. The nurse numbed the area with a shot, cleaned the area, and then the doctor cut off the mole.
Review of Service
The dermatologist and his staff are very friendly, efficient, and professional. The shot to numb the area did hurt a bit. However, the mole removal did not hurt at all, although the area was slightly sore the next day. The price is comparable to the price charged by other dermatologists for similar services. The only complaint I had is that my dermatologist records everything about the visit on a small tape recorder, so he was speaking into the recorder periodically through out the entire visit. It just made me feel like a lab rat! Otherwise, he is an excellent doctor.
Tips
Your regular family doctor should be able to refer you to a reputable dermatologist in your area. Also, ask family and friends if they have a good dermatologist they would recommend.
