Description of service
This is the price I recently paid to have a mole removed on my shoulder. The price included all fees associated with the removal, including lab fees. Basically, the dermatologist first examined the mole. He then put a substance on the mole and the surrounding area to minimize pain. The mole was then cut off with something that looked like a razor blade and the wound was bandaged. The entire procedure took less than thirty minutes. The mole was sent off to a lab for testing.
Review of Service
Skin cancer runs in my family and my father battled melanoma a few years ago and is now in remission. So, I am obviously very careful about moles that look different or change in any way. This mole had been itching and getting slightly bigger. I decided to have it removed just in case. Thankfully, the mole was not cancerous. The scar from the mole removal is slight, bit it is still healing too. Overall, this doctor made my experience a positive one. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Tips
In most cases, insurance will cover mole removals. My insurance would have covered the procedure, but I have a deductible that I have not met. So, I did have to pay the full amount.
