Description of service
I got an oil change package. They changed the oil and the oil filter, the air filter, washed the windows, and tried to get me to do a whole bunch of other things that probably didn't need doing yet.
Review of Service
The oil and filter change was fine. It was quick and their little gimmick was that you didn't even have to get out of the car - they would bring you the payment forms and take your credit card and bring you back the slip to sign - you never had to move.
They did get people in and out of there quickly. They kept telling me about other services that needed to happen though, which I don't think really did. It made me wary of going back there because I don't really like any sort of auto maintenance where they'll try to get women to do extra work that may not need to be done.
They also kept messing up the sticker that says what your odometer should say when you need to return. First they printed it as saying I had 17,000 miles on my car when it was 107,000, then there was some other mistake. The second mistake is still on the sticker, so it's not very useful.
Tips
I still think that women should be wary of any type of auto services where they try to get you to pay for a whole bunch of things that "need to be done right now." Get a second or even third opinion. Or bring a man with you and see if they stop trying to sell you all the extra stuff.
I have seen plenty of places that charge less but aren't quite as close to my house. I think I'll try the other places next time.
