Description of service
I went to my local video rental store and rented one DVD from them. The rental price was good for 7 days and then it had to be returned. If you did not return it on time, they would charge you an additional $3.99 a day as a late fee. I returned the movie after three days via their night drop box.
Review of Service
Renting DVDs at this store is sort of like being at the library. No one offers to help you unless you ask them to. We were not greeted when we entered the store and we were the only ones there too and the door is right beside the check out desk. They had a really good selection and we were able to find the exact DVD that we came to get without any help. The cashier was really friendly when we did go to check out and she did explain the rental period and late fees to us before we left. We did not have our membership card with us (forgot it in the car), but she was nice enough to look up our membership by our phone number so we did not have to go back to the car in the cold. It was a typical experience in this store.
Tips
Expect to pay the same price to rent a DVD as you would pay to get it on your home TV through your cable company. Also do not expect to be given lots of attention at these stores. They are notoriously understaffed, often only having one person on duty at any given time. Its always easier to find a DVD if its not a new release too, plus you get to keep it longer. New release rentals are the same price but you can only keep it for 2 days instead of 7.
