Description of service
I pay $50 a week for an hour and a half voice lesson from a professional singer. We meet on the same day every week.
Review of Service
I'd been acting for years but never felt very comfortable with my singing voice. One day my theater teacher asked me if I would consider trying out for a musical. I did, reluctantly, and got the part! I wanted to improve my voice though so I could be more confident. My teacher recommended a voice coach to me. I met with the coach and talked to her about her methods. I was pleased with I heard and have been getting voice lessons weekly for about four months now. The lessons are great. She started just having me run the scales and now does a lot of work trying to stretch my range. One thing I really like about her method is that she records everything and gives me the tape when I leave. It helps a lot as I'm practicing throughout the week to be able to hear how I sounded and what I needed to work on.
Tips
When interviewing potential voice lesson teachers ask them about their method. These can vary wildly and it's important to have a teacher who teaches in a way you respond to.
