Description of service
I am a person that likes to be tan during the summer, but doesn't like to expose my body to too much sun. I thought spray tanning would be a good option for me. I went to a place called St. Croix Tan because I heard that they were the best and wanted to give it a try. It cost me $45.00 per session and I went 2 times to get the darkness I liked. I was paranoid about the spray getting into my mouth or eyes. Surprisingly, the spray tan machines they have there are amazing!! They do a great and precise spray over your entire body and it was very simple. I have heard that in some places, the machines spray out the substance too fast and you end up getting drips on parts of your body, but the machines I used sent out a gentle mist that coated my skin and left everything looking smooth. I was very happy with this. The only thing that bothered me was how slow the machines go. I felt like I was standing in there for days. After you get out of the machine, you have to towel off your body to rub the spray tan into your skin. Again, I was nervous about this because I didn't want streaking. I was shocked to see that the tan look smooth, almost airbrushed on and REAL! It took about 2 hours after I left for the tan to truly show. Overall, the process of doing the spray tan was very simple and harmless. The only thing that made it difficult were MY nerves interfering. My ONLY complaint with spray tans is how fast they wear off. Mine last about a week and a half.
Review of Service
After I was done with the spray tan, it took about 2 hours for the tan to completely show on my skin. I was extremely happy was the pigmentation and shade of the spray tan. It was NOT orange at all, it was a perfect tan. Nobody knew that I had gotten a spray tan and I got compliments from everyone. My skin tone is naturally a darker skin tone. I have heard that people with very fair or pale skin should steer clear of spray tans because it tends to be a little orange on their skin. I will DEFINITELY be going back for another spray tan sometime soon.
Tips
My only tip for people who are thinking about getting a spray tan is to NOT be nervous. Go somewhere reputable and go somewhere who has gotten good reviews from people in the past. Paying a little bit more for the service can also be a good thing in some instances. You get what you pay for. If you have pale or fair skin, ask the person at the front desk if he/she thinks it is a good idea to get a spray tan. Ask about how the color will work for your skin and even ask to see before and after pictures. Most places keep a Before and After booklet for customers to look through.
