Description of service
I took the Z4 in for an annual check and was told need to rotate the tires. I know nothing about cars so assumed I needed this service. Service manager said rotation of tires is not part of maintenance plan and would cost one hundred and fifty dollars out of my pocket.The service manager said it was for my own safety.
Review of Service
I rate the service as excellent. I can not tell a difference between pre-rotated tires and post-rotated tires. However, whenever I bring the Z4 in for service BMW washes the car and cleans the interior. That is the only real measure I use. A local car wash would cost about twenty to twenty five dollars. The workers are very polite and respectful. As far as quality of maintenance, I have no clue. But the dealer offers free Wi-Fi service, free coffee, and free car washes. So all in all, it is a good deal.
Tips
I would do my homework on the internet first. Find a maintenance schedule for the Z4 to determine the types of services you need before you go to the dealer. I am sure there is some "chat" room for Z4 owners and discuss necessary and preventive maintenance schedules from other owners before you take the dealers' word.
