Description of service
The dance lessons I signed my daughter up for in Palm Coast, Florida consist of 2 classes weekly. Each class lasts for 45-50 minutes. The more classes you sign up for, the less expensive each class becomes. For example, 3 classes a week is $90, and each additional class over that is $20 extra week month. A single class a week is $40. The classes are not too full, and there is a great selection of classes and age ranges. There is hip hop, jazz, tap, ballet, and some tumbling classes for the younger children. They have even have lyrical, point classes, contemporary and break dancing. The teachers are all dancers themselves, and they really love to work with the children. Each year there is a recital, and the children wear costumes and perform for their family and friends. The parents are not allowed to leave the premises, but are encouraged to watch from a designated area. The younger children are allowed to dance on a trial basis. The teachers evaluated each child, and if they are not ready, they will inform the parents to wait until the child is older. The dancers have a dress code, and the school has a selection of leotards and tights that you may purchase.
Review of Service
The lessons are fantastic. My daughter loves the classes, the other students, the teachers, and the leotards. The structure is fantastic. The children learn listening skills, following directions, and get exercise at the same time. The teachers all understand what needs to be done to keep children focused. It is great to know that they are not a daycare facility where you just leave your children for an hour. Parents must stay and the children like that the parents are always close by if needed. There are 2 locations in my town so that there is a great selection of times to fit every work and school schedule. They have been in business for a good number of years, and the experience shows. They are all caring teachers who remember the students names from the very first day. They issue newsletters to keep the parents updated, and are always available for questions. They are focused on the well-being of the children and seem to notice quickly when a child requires extra assistance. I will continue to utilize their services for years, and I can not wait for the recital this year. Dance lessons not only help prepare your child for structure, they also let them have fun while doing it.
Tips
When looking for a dance company for your child, you must consider a place that can service your schedule. Nowadays, people have 2 works schedules, multiple children taking multiple classes, and school to work around. Choosing a dance school that has multiple times of classes with cut down on one's personal stress level. They have all age ranges on each day, and you can have 1 child take more than one class on the same day too. The clothing that they sell should be affordable, and comfortable. Make sure that they let your child try on everything, and that they assist you in finding the right sizes. Nothing is worse than ballet or tap shoes that don't fit properly. Also ask for a quote of the recital costumes. Some children will use more than one, and they can get pricey at some centers. See if they accept early payments too, that way, you don't get hit with large amounts at one time. The biggest thing is that you should make sure parents are entitled to remain on the premises and even watch the classes. I would never leave my child somewhere that I wasn't welcome too. If classes seem to expensive, they may be, so look around to all the centers in your area. Make sure you tour facilities and meet with teachers prior to lessons, so you can be sure you are choosing the right place for you and your child.
