Description of service
I took Karate Classes at a local community center. The cost of each week was $20. There was also an initial investment of $70 for the uniform.
Review of Service
After being the victim of an assault, it was recommended to me that I take some sort of self-defense class. I looked into some options and decided that I'd rather take Karate classes as I felt they'd serve the same purpose and also give me some good exercise.
I found out a local community center offered the classes very cheaply to residents of the neighborhood.
There were several positive aspects. One being that I did feel I learned a lot in the 3 months I attended classes. I definitely feel like I am better able to defend myself than I once had been. I also felt that the instructors were extraordinary and did a lot of one on one training. This was particularly impressive considering who cheap the classes were.
The downside was that they only offered one class and time per week and every month they would change the day at time. This eventually became too much for me to juggle my schedule around.
Tips
Community centers can offer cheaper alternatives to your regular classes but you will likely have to be more flexible.
