1.5 megabyte digital subscriber line  more... close row

Description of service

1.5 megabyte digital subscriber line with a 356k upload. Requires Home phone line but does not require a dedicated phone line. Most phone companies have digital subscriber line plans that you can bundle with your home phone line to get a discount on both.

Review of Service

digital subscriber line internet may have top speeds lower than cable internet available in your area but i have found that the speed stays more constant through out the day where with cable internet i have seen the bandwidth drop during high peek times like during lunch time or right after five pm. I have also noticed that digital subscriber line seems to have a lower latecy time than cable in most places. Also if you already have phone lines in your house setup usually only takes a few minutes. where with cable they have to come to your house and remove the cable line filters.

Tips

Talk to friends and neighbors in your neighborhood that have both, and if possible ask see if they will let you use there internet to see if you can notice any differences. also check the local listings to see if there are any deals going on in your area for bundles, etc. Do your research about the company before you go with them.
