Description of service

I currently pay $19.99 per month for my DSL internet service. It came with anti-spyware, popup-blocker, and virus protection software as part of the package.

Review of Service

The service I currently receive is for the most basic package that this DSL service provider makes available. It is for a speed of 1.5 mbps (mega bites per second) which is their slowest speed. For most things I do online it is just fine, but it is definitely not as lightening fast as other T1 or cable connections I have had in the past. One draw back is that when I have tried to watch streaming movies online, it sometimes does not come through fast enough or in as high of quality that a faster speed would allow.

But, due to where I live, it is the fastest service that is available in my area. There are other providers for my area that offer faster speeds, but the price is also twice as high. The service itself has gone out on me a few times, but it hasn't been anything I couldn't fix by following the the Troubleshooting software that my service came with.

Tips

When moving to a new area or transferring your service, check to see what speed is available from the different providers. You may find, like I did, that you may have to settle for a slower speed with certain DSL providers.
