Description of service
Our 1000 gallon septic tank was pumped out. The fee was $365.00 for pumping, removal of contents, and treatment of the tank for continued use. There was no breakdown of costs, just a flat fee for all services that needed to be done. The cost was based on a maximum two hour service call. We were told if it took more than two hours each additional hour would cost $50.00.
Review of Service
The quality of service we received was excellent. The technicians who came to our house were polite, dressed neatly and very informative. They worked well together and answered all of our questions with explanations instead of short answers. They offered information about their procedures and maintenance of the tank in the future. They reviewed what materials could be easily broken down easily in the tank and what materials to avoid. They provided us with a year's supply of tank treatment and instructions how to get it into the tank (flushing it in the toilet), how often to treat the tank and reviewed with us the things that would make the tank have to be pumped in 3 years vs. 5 years.
Tips
First and foremost get the name of a company from a personal reference, not just picking a name in the phone book. If no one you know has the name of a reputable company, as a real estate agent, if you don't know a real estate agent, you can call a real estate company and get a referral. We got our referral from a real estate agent and it was one of the best we've ever received
