the Cost of Septic Tank Cleaning

I recently had my septic tank pumped, I paid $225.00 for the service. I have a single family home and the company that came out told me my tank is about 1000 gallons. The driver of the truck was the only one that came out so he drove the truck and also operated the part that sucked out my tank. The truck arrived and the guy had a metal stick that he pushed into the ground to find the septic tank. After he found the tank he took a shovel and dug up and removed 2 lids. He took the lids off and put a big hose from the truck in both sides of the tank to suck it out. After he emptied my septic tank, he pulled off the filter and cleaned it, and put it back. He put the lids back on and covered them up with dirt. I paid him and that was it.

The service was good, the driver arrived when he said he would. By the time I realized I needed my tank pumped, it was an emergency,and the company sent someone out right away.

I was told that you should have your septic tank pumped about every 2 years and that would avoid having an emergency situation.
