Description of service
My daughter had phase I orthodontic treatment. She had braces placed on her top, front four teeth, anchored to her back teeth. The fee included the placement of the active orthodontic appliances and the adjustment for 9 months, the removal of the active appliances, the first retainer and one year of post treatment care. The price is a flat fee that includes the choice of silver, gold, or clear braces.
Review of Service
The orthodontist was very professional. He did seem a bit busy. He took care of the initial appointment and placing the appliances on. After that, the assistants did as much as they could, and he spent 5 or 10 minutes with my daughter each appointment. I thought my daughter's teeth were over-corrected, but that ended up being a good thing, because he was right about the teeth trying to go back apart at first when the braces come off, which is also why the retainer is so important. My daughter feels so much more confident with her smile now.
Tips
It is important that the patient understand what it takes to take care of the braces, and be willing to comply with the rules. There is extra work in cleaning the teeth, and there are many food restrictions. If the teeth are not kept clean, they can become stained when the braces are removed. If the wrong foods are eaten, your gums can become infected, your appliances can be displaced or damaged.
