Description of service
We have a central air conditioning unit (not a window unit) in our home. We were getting it cleaned and ready for the upcoming summer season, and noticed a large pool of water near it. Upon some further cleaning and investigation, we seemed to have a serious problem, so we called for service. The service included both labor and parts. Of our bill, $150 was for parts, and $200 was for labor.
Review of Service
We were satisfied with the professionalism and speedy service. However, we thought the price was too high. It seemed to be fair for the $150 parts because that seemed to be the fair market price for the parts. However, the $200 labor fee was excessive in our opinion. It took them no longer than an hour tops. $200 for an hour of labor to repair our air conditioner unit made us feel ripped off. At least it got fixed though. Just hope this experience doesn't happen again!
Tips
A central air conditioner that runs but doesn't cool may just need to be cleaned. Check this out before spending the big books to have somebody look at it. We have found ours needs cleaning sometimes, so it isn't always the best idea to jump the gun and call for service!
