Description of service
When our heat pump went out last summer, before summer had set in the guy I called said are You hot? I said well no not yet but I don't want to be. He said he would look as soon as he could. So he did come on over later that day and was able to test for the problem to figure out what was the issue this time. Turned out it needed a new part.
Review of Service
He was able to take off and acquire the part from a business later that day and returned with the new part the next day and make it run. He did inform us that although the unit was working, it was older and that it further used more electric to run than what is sold now. It's a 1992 model heat pump. Which if You were like me I didn't realize that there was such a thing until moving south. It cools and heats. He did state that there is a law? that is mandating that I must replace the (whole thing) in attic/air handling system and the heat pump unit that is outside in the back of the house under a overhang.
Tips
He said because of the law we would not be able to purchase a new unit part (either in attic air handler) or the outside (unit), because they both were energy hogs compared to what is being made now. Seer is what he called it. He said the higher the number in seer was what we want for the "buck". Very helpful and we were happy to not have to purchase a new unit yet. But with it being so old I bet it's coming.
