Beginning sewing machine class. 4 hour class cost $65 if you signed up at least two weeks in advance. I signed up later and paid $75. I provided all my own materials and sewing machine.
Review of Service
Great beginner class! The class was supposed to be 2 hours but we had a lot of questions and it was closer to 3 hours. We were given a list of things to buy in order to make a pillow during class. We got to pick our own material and zipper out for the pillow. The beginning of the class we learned what the different parts of the sewing machines were called, what they did and how to use them. We all brought practice material to practice different stitches on and to get used to the pedal. Once we were ready we got to work measuring the material out for the pillow. We sewed it together, stuffed it and added the zipper. I was really proud of myself by the end of the class when I had something to show for it. The teacher was really friendly and there were only 6 people in the class so there was a lot of individual attention. This studio offers all levels of classes from beginner to advanced so it's great that I can go to another class and maybe run into some of the same people.
Tips
Small class size is key if you're a beginner. Try to find a class that you actually get to make something in, as it's a huge motivation to keep sewing after the class.
