Description of service
Check Engine Light came on in the car without any warning. I took it into the dealership and they determined that the problem was a faulty microchip. The cost of $325 includes a $20 diagnostic fee, and $305 for the part and labor to replace it.
Review of Service
Service was very quick. I brought it into the auto repair shop first thing when it opened and they were able to diagnose the problem within 15 minutes. They did not have the part in stock but assured me that the car was still safe to drive. So I drove it away and they ordered the part. It took about three days to come in, which I thought was a little long, and they were able to make the repair very quickly, as the car was designed in such a way that the chip is easy replaceable.
Tips
Be sure to work with an auto repair shop that you trust. This was the first and only time that I used this place, and to be honest, I am not sure if I buy everything that they told me, or whether or not they just turned the light off and charged me $300 to do it.
