Description of service
My company uses our former interns as temporary employees. We pay them $100 per day to fill in at various positions. They work from 9 am to 7 pm and are given 1 hour for lunch. They answer phones, schedule meetings, read and reply to email, run errands and other various office duties.
Review of Service
Using former interns as temporary employees is great for everyone. It allows the interns to return and gain more experience to put on their resume as well as put some much needed money in their posckets. It works perfectly for our company as well because we have temps who are already familiar with the way we do things and what is involved in the day-to-day running of things. There is less of an adjustment period, and the regualr employees are able to take vacation or sick days with less worry about what is going on back in the office. Hiring temps this way saves us time and is more efficient for everyone involved. The work gets done, and it gets done well.
Tips
As interns move on to other opportunities, make sure you get their contact information (especially for the stellar interns). They will love knowing that you have valued their work enough to being them back to the company in some capacity!
