I started a venture to open up a new website. The website mainly consisted of an specialized topical online forum. To build the forum up and make it big and increase traffic, I first needed to get some posters going. This is what I did the "Temporary Employees" for. I put an offer out on a popular site that pays workers an amount to perform a human intelligence tasks. If they completed 50 posts on my forum, they got paid $5 for their work.
Review of Service
It turned out pretty good for the most part. The only problem was that a lot of the people made their 50 posts and never came back. Which isn't entirely bad because it still built up some posts and traffic. However, I was hoping for a bit more retention out of the deal. Most posts were genuine and thoughtful and not just "wasteful" posts though, and for that I was happy. I still do need to find other ways to increase traffic and keep the site going other than just this though.
Tips
I think it went well for what I needed it to do. However, it is going to take more than just this idea to get the traffic going to where I need it to be.
