The price is for a scheduled monthly preventive visit from a pest control company. They spray for a variety of bugs including roaches, scorpions, and termites.
They also offer services from fumigation of commercial buildings on down to one-time pest control visits in residential homes. Prices vary depending on the size of the job.
Review of Service
I am a little concerned that once a month a stranger walks through our house and gets to review our house's floor plan and contents, but the company's reputable and we've been using them for quite a while with no dire consequences.
In fact we've been almost entirely pest free (the flying variety sometimes still get in, though) since we've hired them. They spray the stuff around the baseboards of the walls and inside the cabinets and whatnot, so they're quite thorough. And they might as well be spraying water for all the smell the stuff has. Overall I'm pleased.
Tips
In Arizona it's not always necessary to spray for bugs because there just aren't that many that get inside that often, but some varieties do like to hide in the shade and manage to find their way inside. It only really becomes a problem if they set up a nest inside your house, otherwise a can of bug spray and regular cleaning is all you really need.
