Description of service
I've been taking guitar lessons for 2 years. I pay $50.00 for an hour lesson once a week. I do not give a tip except once a year at Christmas.
Review of Service
The music school I go to has very experienced teachers. I have one teacher I normally have but when he is off on vacation or sick there are several other teachers there to pick up his work load. I've been impressed with all of them. They are good at going at your own pace. Some weeks I have a lot of time to practice and can handle several new lessons or chords. Some weeks I have a lot going on and can't put as much time in to practice. They are really understanding about this and tailor the lesson plan around my schedule. Once a year there is a recital and even though I'm always the oldest person there it's a lot of fun. There's no extra charge for this and my friends and family can come watch for free. Of course, donations and accepted and refreshments are sold.
Tips
I would recommend really spending some time at several schools or studios. Make sure you know before you start how much time you will be able to put into practicing between lessons. If it will vary I would definitely recommend a one on one lesson, even though it costs more, because you'll be able to get a lot more out of it than if you were in a class with people and have a fixed schedule on the lessons.
