Description of service
My child wanted to try guitar lessons and I found a center that provided six 1-hour weekly lessons, along with a loaner guitar for the six-week period, all for $150 paid in advance. There was also a $100 refundable deposit required for the guitar. The lessons were taught at the guitar center by a teacher who was about 40 years old, and there were five kids in the class.
Review of Service
I think music is really important for kids, but I know that my kids change interests on a regular basis, so I like being able to sign them up for short classes to see if they like the instrument and are willing to put in the effort to learn. This was a great arrangement to take six classes and not have to buy or rent a guitar. The instructor was wonderful with the kids and knew that learning the basics was important but also he knew that they wanted to be able to play something to perform for their friends and the parents, so he taught them some simple songs. The price was excellent for the service and this was a great way for the business to gain loyal customers.
Tips
Don't invest a lot of money in the early stages by buying a guitar or signing up for a long course. Let your child try it out and see if they like it before making a major financial and time commitment.
