Description of service
We have a rental unit that had hardwood floors that had taken a pretty bad beating over the years. So, we decided to have it sanded and refinished to take out the scratches and surface damage to the floors. The company sanded down the old floors then put on a top coat of sealer or polyurethane. They did not stain or change the color of the floors in any way. This was just a simple refinishing
Review of Service
The company was good and cheap. At one dollar per square foot, the price is hard to beat. The crew came in one day and sanded the floors. They then had to return to put on the first top coast of finish. Then they returned after a day to put the final coat on. The guys did a pretty good job. It was not perfect. You can see a few small areas where the finish has pooled, but only if you know where to look. Overall, the floors look shiny and new, which is exactly what we wanted. Some minor scuffing was done to our baseboards, likely by the sanders. But, this is pretty unavoidable and nothing that a quick coast of paint will not fix. I would choose this company again because of their price. If I had a more high end unit, I might go with a less budget operation.
Tips
Make sure to ask how long you will need to stay off of your floors while the finish dries and make plans to be out of the house during this period, which is often overnight.
