Description of service
When we first moved into our new older home (built in 1966), we knew there was a lot of work to be done and one of the first things we had to take care of were rotten floors in the kitchen and laundry room (off the kitchen). The previous owners had rented the house to the same tenants for 15 years. Those tenants had allowed a leak under the kitchen sink to go unfixed for a number of years and it eventually rotted out the floor under the sink and going into the laundry room that is directly behind/connected to the kitchen. We went through a local retail business to buy the supplies and then went with their subcontractors to have the actual work done with the supplies we had purchased. Our price included all supplies (plywood flooring, nails, new linoleum, etc.), removal of the old rotten flooring, and repair/replacement of the floor. It took them only one day (12 hours) to do it.
Review of Service
I would definitely do this again with this company. They were professional and timely and efficient. They did a really good job too. I have been told by others that I paid too much for this and got ripped off, but I did not shop around so I do not know if this is true or not. I am happy with what I paid for and do not personally feel like I paid too much.
Tips
Be sure to know what you are getting into when you buy a house that needs repair work. We were lucky that our seller was honest and disclosed all of this information. With it all being hidden under the current flooring, we could have gotten taken easily. Its important to look under sinks and behind refrigerators and washing machines for any signs of water damage. Also, I suppose shop around for prices on the repairs. I was happy with what I paid, but others said I paid too much.
