Description of service
The service was the rental of a maroon minivan for a week. We took the option to receive and return the van with a full tank of gas. It seemed cheaper than the price they were trying to charge if we returned it empty. The $285 was the total rental price. We paid about another $50 in fuel during the week we had it. We took no insurance because we were told that our no-fault insurance and homeowners' from our home state covered it. It also seemed like a rip-off. We also didn't purchase any "driver add-ons" - only myself was registered to drive the van during rental.
Review of Service
Overall I think car rental in general is a rip-off but it is tough to avoid. Considering how pricey it can be these days, I think $285 for the whole week wasn't as bad as it could be. I have heard horror stories from friends spending over $500 for the same amount of time for renting a van in Orlando, so if those stories are any indication, I think that we did a pretty good job. The rental company was relatively easy to work with and didn't cause too many hassles.
Tips
My best tip would be to shop around on the internet prior to your trip to look for the best deals. If you don't they will rip you off and take you to the cleaners.
