Description of service
In September 2007 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Within 1 week I had surgery and was referred to an oncologist for radiation treatment. About 4 weeks after surgery I started 6 weeks of radiation therapy every day.
Review of Service
I was scared to death when I found out I needed radiation therapy but it turned out not to be as bad as I thought. The people who worked at the clinic were amazing, helpful, loving, caring and were there anytime I needed them. The doctors were the same way. Somehow, having my boobs exposed everyday didn't seem so bad and scary anymore. About 3 weeks into treatment, the area being treated became extremely sore and painful. I called the clinic and was given medication immediately to help with the pain and burning. It's just amazing how great these people are. It takes a special kind of person to do this job with a smile and they all did just that. If God forbid, I had to go through it again, I wouldn't be at all afraid or anxious because these people would be there everyday helping me fight and get through treatment.
Tips
You have to treat the burning you inevitably get from the treatment.
