Description of service
An office visit concerning a cancer I have. The $200 included lab work, the physician's visit with the standard measuring/weighing and discussion of medications, and a follow-up report. I have no insurance right now, so the $200 fee was agreed upon ahead of time by myself and the office staff.
Review of Service
The care was very good. The physician spent 30 minutes with me, discussing my options for taking care of the disorder in question as well as answering all of the questions I had. A nurse drew my blood, and they have a lab on site, so the blood work was completed very quickly. The physician also worked with me to find medication options that were as inexpensive as possible since I am without insurance. Overall it was an excellent experience and I was pleasantly surprised at how well I was treated despite being a self-pay patient.
Tips
I recommend calling around to different offices and personally speaking to the doctors. I chose the office I went to by speaking with my physician over the phone before anything else. He was professional, caring, and understanding over the phone and very willing to work with me regarding finances. Some of the other offices I called would not allow me to speak to the doctor without an appointment, or refused service because I did not have insurance. By calling ahead, I got excellent care at a good price.
