Description of service
The oncologist offer different therapies to approach cancer treatment. There are precision drugs that target specific proteins in cells that cause normal cells to become cancerous. The results can be startling and with far fewer side effects than chemotherapy or radiotherapy. It can mean a pill a day instead of invasive surgery, but that wasn't really realistic in my case. This price included medication, insurance cost (and them paying for some of the cost as well), and the actual standart treatments that supress a tumour or produce slow shrinkage (chemotherapy. The price was for just one full year of therapy and services. There are some trial therapies that do work for some people, but the oncologist changed from that sort of method to a more standard chemotherapy. It also included some days of hospital stays.
Review of Service
The service was what I would expect from a hospital and the oncologist specialist. If something didn't work it can't be their fault, but I wish in a way that the insurance could pay for more. I guess if we had known before we would have gotten a better more inclusive insurance. The service was good though, they sought out treatments that would work best for me and really help me get better and paid attention to my needs.
Tips
Get a good insurance or ungrade if you can. Also find a support group to go to that can recommend doctors so that you can choose the best. Don't believe everything the doctors say do your own research in the library and internet.
