Description of service
We need to replace the back deck and walkway of our home.
I contacted several neighbors who had had various types of work done around their homes and spoke to three different people about doing the work.
The total cost of the job was $2,300 which included materials and labor. I paid $1,000 up front and the balance upon completion of the job.
Review of Service
We received a very high value of workmanship and material for our investment. The man worked mostly by himself but had a part-time helper to help him unload the material and place the forms.
He showed up on time each day and worked at a steady pace to complete the job in a timely manner. We spoke at length about the bricks we wanted and he brought samples for our review.
I feel it was a good, fair price for the material and workmanship required for the job.
There is nothing negative about the job, and he even had enough brick left to build a small bench for us.
Tips
Prior to hiring anyone, check references. Determine how much you can afford for the project(s) and try to stick to that budget. Have a good idea of what you want and, if possible, sketch the ideas on paper to show the person hired for the job. Stay out of their way but keep an eye on the progress.
