Description of service
I needed to have some work done on my 30 year old fireplace to include some mortar work on the top of the chimney, flashing to prevent leakage around the base of the chimney, ensuring all of the shingles were in tact around the top of the chimney, some clean up of the back firewall inside the house, and positioning of a fire back (sheet of cast iron at the back of the fireplace) to prevent further damage.
Review of Service
I was happy with the service I received, it was much less than estimates I had received from bricklayers, fireplace specialists and contractors. This person was truly a jack of all trades and knew just enough about everything I needed. I had recently had a new liner and cap installed in the chimney, so I felt comfortable that it was fireproof and just needed general labor to bring it fully up to par.
Tips
If I had had this work done through the fireplace company that installed the liner and cap it would have been a least double the amount, glad I took the time to find a handyman. Some of the bricklayers I spoke with have minimum jobs, and mine was below the lowest thresholod. I feel confident the job is done well.
