Description of service
We had a local handyman do several minor repairs around our home. It took him about an hour and a half and the total cost was $75.00.
We needed several small things done around the home, like tightening the screws on our toilet and some touch up work on our paint job. We found a local handyman in our area who charged $50 an hour. He quoted us an hour of work based on the list we gave him of what we wanted done.
Review of Service
At first we thought the quote was a little high but when we thought of how much it would cost to have several different types of repair people come out we decided it was reasonable. He ended up taking about an hour and a half to complete the job. I was at home when he was working and I definitely felt that he took a longer time than he needed to but I didn't want to argue with him when he presented the bill.
I did not tip him, however and would recommend him to a friend.
Tips
If possible, get a quote based on the work to be done and not on the time the handyman will be in your home. This will prevent the possibility of the worker milking you for extra cash by moving slowly.
